Our Police Department is proud to offer all residents 24 hour, 365 days a year police protection. The Village of Elkton Police Department is very well trained, and equipped with the most current technology and support equipment. Full-time personnel and part-time officers provide patrols and peace of mind in a community-based department. A patrol car is always just minutes away from any point in the village, to not only uphold the laws and aid the victims of crime and injury, but to truly apply themselves to the needs of the residents. The Village of Elkton Police Department has a mutual-aid agreement with the Tuscola County Sheriff Department and the Michigan State Police, as well as local police departments. The Village of Elkton is in close collaboration with Lakers School District, the department communicates and trains with school administration and staff regularly, maintaining positive community presence with students, teachers, and families.

All Material should be set at the curb by 6am on the scheduled day. Containers should not weigh more than 50lbs.
HOLIDAYS:
If a holiday falls on or before your scheduled day, pickup will be one day later than normal.
Observed holidays are:
New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.

In 1979, a joint agreement with Elkton Fire Department and Oliver Township combined together to build a new Township Hall at 5006 Hoffman Street in Elkton, Michigan. The fire protection service is readily available in the heart of the Village, complete with fully pressurized water line looping, a village-wide hydrant system. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year set for any emergency.
